Hi! I’m Jack…
Standing in a dimly lit library, surrounded by terraces of books and rarely disturbed by the occasional fellow peruser, I studied what might be the most beautiful thing I have ever seen: a hydraulic diagram. While it was not what you would normally think of as a masterpiece, its relatives Mona Lisa and The Last Supper would beg to differ. Admiring Leonardo DaVinci's work on the diagram, I appreciated the blending of art and science, complexity and clarity, and detail and communication. I felt validated in my love for engineering, and inspired to pursue it by understanding and connecting with people.
As an empathetic engineer, I want to design products that people use every day, anchored in a curiosity for understanding the lives of others. With a background in mechanical engineering, I am also analytical, bringing an understanding of materials and manufacturing to ensure a seamless transition from design to mass-production.
My biggest hobby is collecting new hobbies, and I enjoy leveraging my interests to think associatively while solving problems. When I'm not grappling with connecting the dots, I enjoy sailing and swimming in any Great Lake.
